Steganography
Steganography
STEGANOGRAPHY IS DERIVED FROM THE GREEK FOR COVERED WRITING AND ESSENTIALLY MEANS “TO HIDE IN PLAIN SIGHT”
- Steganography and encryption are both used to ensure data confidentiality. However, the main difference between them is that with encryption anybody can see that both parties are communicating in secret.
- Steganography hides the existence of a secret message and in the best case nobody can see that both parties are communicating in secret.
- Steganography hides a message within another message and tries to offer the impression that nothing but normal text, audio or video message is being exchanged.
- It does not alter the structure of the secret message.
- It fails when the “enemy” detects that there is secret message present in the steganography medium.
